Spiritual health isn't produced by giving God one hour a week; it grows when we stay connected to the real Jesus, stay consistent with Him even when it's boring, and stay committed to Him even when it's painful. Jesus, the true vine, tells His followers that apart from Him they can do nothing — but if they remain, they will bear lasting fruit.

God's tough seasons aren't proof He's against you — they can be the pruning He uses to make your life more fruitful. The same events that lead some people to ruin lead others to redemption, and the difference is whether you trust God enough to let Him cut back what needs to go and remain in His love.

Jesus, knowing His time was short, used the picture of the vine and branches to teach His disciples what it means to truly abide in Him. Abiding means offering ourselves to God, letting Him prune away what doesn't produce good fruit, and trusting Him even when that closeness draws the world's hostility rather than its approval.
