Anxiety and Trust

Faith isn't a feeling of wishful thinking, it's an inner conviction based on the word of God that lets us see the reality of what we hope for, even when we can't see it yet. Because our real homeland is heaven, our hearts should never fully settle here, and our future destination should determine how we live right now instead of us drifting back to the comforts of this world.

Pastor Bill shows that anxiety often tempts us to cut corners for convenience, but through David's story in the cave at En Gedi, we see that trusting God fully rather than settling for shortcuts is what leads to real peace. The difference between David and Saul was not that one sinned and the other didn't, but that David kept his relationship with God close through prayer and worship, so when he cut a corner he was quick to confess and turn back.
