Gethsemane

Our feelings are real and God-given, but they are not always reliable narrators of truth. Pastor Bill shows from Psalm 42 that the healthy pattern is to question our feelings by digging beneath the surface to find what's really going on, and then to declare and actively step into God's truth despite what we feel, the way Jesus Himself did in Gethsemane.

Jesus knows what it's like to face something we don't want, and in the Garden of Gethsemane He shows us that the only real option is surrendering to the Father's will rather than demanding our own way. What Adam and Eve broke by grabbing for what they wanted in the Garden of Eden, Jesus healed by surrendering in the garden of Gethsemane — and that same choice is set before us today.
