Jesus doesn't just offer a path to God among many — He is the only way, because He is the only one who dealt honestly with our real problem: sin. Christmas is meant to give us hope that goes beyond our circumstances, but many people look for that hope in the wrong place — in fixed relationships, jobs, or politics. God isn't handing us a honey-do list where we perform to earn His blessing — He already rescued and loved us first. In the parable of the two lost sons, Jesus shows that every person is lost — whether by running from God like the younger son, or by hiding in religious self-righteousness like the older son. The good news is that God runs toward the lost, and worth in His family comes not through work, but through being born into it.
