Jesus as Good Shepherd

On the night before He died, Jesus had every reason to focus on Himself, yet He knelt to wash dirty feet, reached out in love to His betrayer Judas, and patiently corrected Peter's overconfidence. His example shows that serving others, even those who fail or betray us, defines true dignity rather than diminishing it — and that following Jesus depends not on our own strength but on His shepherding care.

Jesus reveals Himself as the Good Shepherd who freely and fully sacrificed His soul, not His life, out of who He is, not because of anything we've done. When we truly know and trust His character, our everyday doubts about what He can do in our lives begin to fall away.
