Legalism vs. Grace

True faith starts with a heart transformed by Jesus' love, not with outward rules or attempts to control others. When Christians react to a hostile world with fear, control, or anger instead of humble trust, they mimic the very legalism Jesus confronted in the Pharisees — and they miss the mission of pointing people to Jesus by loving them.

Freedom in Christ isn't found by white-knuckling the rules to earn God's approval, or by running off to chase our own happiness while claiming we still know His love. Real freedom is found when we understand the depth of our sin, embrace how deep Christ's love for us truly is, and let the Holy Spirit lead us one step at a time — like a hike taken together rather than a battle fought or a flight taken alone.
