Loving Your Enemies

Jesus offers us an entirely new way to be human: not chasing loopholes to satisfy the letter of the law, but letting the Holy Spirit produce a supernatural love in us that even loves enemies. We can't do this on our own, but what's impossible with man is possible with God, and He invites us to become the innkeepers who use what He's given us to restore broken people around us.

Because of eleven chapters showing how relentlessly God has loved us, our only reasonable response is to hand over our lives to Him. Out of that surrender, Paul lays out in Romans 12 what genuine, active love for people actually looks like — not a feeling we manufacture, but a supernatural love that flows through us once we grasp how loved we are.
