Politics and Faith

Only Jesus can satisfy the eternity God planted in our hearts, so when we ask politics and government to do that job, they will always fall short. Government has a real, God-given purpose — restrain evil and promote good — but it cannot regenerate a heart; only the gospel can do that.

Solomon's search for meaning in Ecclesiastes eventually leads him to political power, and he finds it just as empty as everything else because leaders and values are always shifting. Pastor Bill shows that Christians are called to be informed, engaged citizens, but our security can never come from political victories — only from knowing Jesus, whose church the gates of hell will never overcome.
