Love makes room for the name.

God offers a life that truly satisfies, but it's easy to keep putting Him off until later — through college, career, marriage, kids — and wake up one day having drifted. Ecclesiastes 12 calls us to remember our Creator now, developing a healthy fear of who God is and trusting His love enough to obey Him, so we become better rather than bitter with age.

Every human being is built to worship something, whether it's God, money, status, pleasure, or approval. Only Jesus, the God who spoke creation into existence and holds it all together, is actually worthy of that worship, and placing it in Him is the only thing that can hold our lives together when everything else is falling apart.

The hope of the gospel is that God has already provided the cure for what's killing us, even when His way of doing it doesn't fit our logic. Like Israel looking at the bronze snake, or Nicodemus needing to be born again, we're invited to trust and act on what God says even before we fully understand it, and find true life on the other side.

Jesus told the parable of the hidden treasure to show that both are true at once: you are the priceless treasure God gave everything to purchase, and He is the treasure worth giving up everything to follow. Because God is fully committed to you, the invitation is to be fully committed to Him, one moment and one decision at a time.
