Surrendering to God

True spiritual life isn't found in performing religious activity to impress God or others — it's found in honest presence with Him. Fasting, rightly understood, isn't pressure to earn God's favor but a way to set aside good or necessary things so we can see reality clearly, expose what we really rely on, and trade self-reliance for trust in God.

Jesus already loves us and redeemed us — Ephesians 4 simply asks us to live like it. That means embracing our God-given calling not as a private, individual pursuit, but as gifted members united to the body of Christ, surrendering our natural time, talent, and money so God can do the supernatural.

Jesus offers a peace that doesn't depend on knowing what happens next. Instead of freaking out over wars, elections, or personal crises, we're called to stay faithful in the present—staying alert in the Word, worship, and community, and staying active on mission—trusting God with the timing we were never meant to figure out.
