The Holy Spirit doesn't move into our lives just so we can feel saved — He moves in so we move out with the gospel, the way He did with the first believers in Acts. Rock Point has watched that same pattern play out in its own twenty-three years, and now God has opened a door to partner with Mission Essex in England, a region that has become one of the least-churched places in the world, so the gospel can go out from there again.

Before time began, God chose you, not because you were good, but because He is good. In Ephesians 1, Pastor Brent shows that to be in Christ means you've been chosen, adopted, and set apart as holy, and that demands a faithful response of total surrender to Jesus in 2025.

God has given us good appetites — for progress, success, respect, comfort, achievement — but in a broken world those good things can become gods that ruin us if left unchecked. Genesis 25's story of Jacob and Esau is a warning, not a relic, showing how desperation and unmanaged desire can cost us the very destiny God has for us. The hope is that through Jesus and the help of the Holy Spirit, we don't have to fight our appetites alone.

There's real hope for anyone who feels torn between who they want to be and who they keep failing to be. Romans 7 shows that this inner battle is normal for every believer, and it isn't meant to be won by willpower—it's won by leaning on Jesus, who alone can rescue us and finish the work He started in us.
