God's Initiative in Salvation

Jesus offers Himself as the bread of life, the one thing our souls truly need. We keep coming to Him looking for what He can give us instead of who He is, but He calls us to stop trying to earn God's favor and simply believe in the One the Father sent. That belief, not our effort, is what saves and satisfies forever.
